Today we are going to be discussing ways to feel prosperity by contributing to the world. It is interesting how many different opinions there are on the subject. Some people believe that one person cannot make a difference while others believe that one person can make a difference.
My Belief: You can feel prosperity when you contribute to the world and it doesn't matter what anyone else thinks about it but rather how the act of kindness or act of caring makes "you" feel about yourself.
Contributing to the world can be many things for many different people. Here are two examples:
Recycling: Separating your trash from recyclables may seem like hard work at first but if you get a dual trash can or even a second trash it will get easier and easier until it becomes like second nature. When I first started out I didn't even have a second trash, what I did was just have a small trash bag next to my main one and I would put the recyclables in there. At first it was challenging to remember but as I kept doing it the process became easier and easier. I even started to feel better about myself as time went on because I knew that I was doing my part.
Walking/biking more instead of driving your car: Let's face it, we love our cars. I still remember I lived about 1 block around from the local grocery store and every time I needed to get anything, I would jump in my car and go there. Today, I take my car out only when I am traveling long distances. Getting started for you may be a challenge especially if you live miles away from the nearest grocery store. To prepare yourself for the change start out by talking a short walk around the house and work your way to longer distances. If you are more comfortable with using a bike you can start going short distances on your bike. As you gain experience you can add a small attachment to your bike that will allow you to put a bag or two of groceries. It is a small act, that doesn't affect anyone but you in the present but in the long run you are contributing to the world. This will make you feel so much better about yourself as you start to notice your body changing.
There are so many different ways you can do your part from lending a hand to donating your old clothes or household items. You will be amazed at how prosperous you will start to feel when you take these small steps towards changing yourself and contributing to the world.
