Discover Your Prosperity Consciousness

Ever wonder why you continue to pray, hope, and strive for a better life but nothing ever changes? You tell yourself "I just need to work harder because hard work always pays off." "It's a dog eat dog world and only the greedy get rich." "I need to accept my fate. It's just not meant to be." "There's just not enough money for everyone. This ones my favorite; Celebrities and athletes are over paid. Nobody's worth that much!

The truth is we are worth it. Every human being deserves to be wealthy. It's just that some haven't realized it yet. Every human being was designed to live abundant, wealthy and prosperous lives. Unfortunately, many of us have been programmed to believe otherwise.

That type of thinking is called "Poverty Consciousness." Focusing on the lack rather than the abundance.

Have you ever tried to count the stars in the sky, the grains of sand on the beach or the blades of grass in a field? There is no end to the abundance that surrounds us. We've all heard the saying "You get what you focus on." Or, "You better be careful what you focus on, you just might get it." What that means quite simply is, if you constantly focus on your debts, you will remain in debt. If you constantly focus on your lack of money, you'll never have enough. If you continually think that things never quite work out for you, it's very likely that they won't.

Try focusing on the abundance in your life. We all have problems now and then. Life would be boring without them. How many times has focusing on your problems helped your problems? Never! It just keeps you stuck in the problem.

Focus on what's going well in your life. Focus on the abundance that surrounds you, the number of stars in the sky, the grains of sand on the beach. What about your family, your children, your friends, your home. The sun that heats our planet. The trees, the birds, the bugs, the animals. The list is endless but they are all essential to our existence.

That's called "Prosperity Consciousness."

Focusing on the abundance not the lack. Focusing on what's going well not what's going wrong. Focusing on what you do have not what you don't have. It doesn't matter who you are, everyone has something to be grateful for. Is there something you desire? An income goal, a new home, a new car? Focus on that. Pick a destination for yourself. Where do you want to be one year from now? Where do you want to be two years from now? Focus on that. Focus on where you're headed not where you're at. Don't let your past determine your future. The past is gone. You can't change it. You can however, determine your future.

Think positive.

Treat everyone you meet as though they are the most important person in the world. They are! Secretly wish everyone you meet blessings of health, wealth and abundance. Smile a lot. Especially when you don't feel like it. Practice smiling in front of the mirror for ten seconds, three times each day. Have fun. Laugh a lot. No matter how bad you think you have it, it can always be worse.

Strive to find the good in everything. There is a positive and negative to every situation. Make the choice to find the positive. Everything happens for a reason. Every journey has a purpose. You are exactly where you are supposed to be. It's your choice whether you remain there or move forward. You are either moving forward in your life or moving backwards. There's no such thing as standing still. When you're standing still, life just passes by. Life is a choice. Success is a choice. Ask anyone who is successful and they will tell you, they just made a choice.

They made the choice to focus on the positive in every situation.

They made a choice to take control of their life.

They made a choice not to be a victim of their circumstances.

They made a choice not to let their past determine their future.

They made a choice to be grateful for the abundance in their lives.

They simply made a choice.

Prosperity is for everyone. We live on an abundant planet in an abundant universe. We all deserve to live prosperously. It's our birthright. It's not luck, location or circumstance. It's a choice.

The world we experience is the world we see through our own eyes. Is you glass half full or is it half empty? Life is a choice. Success is a choice. Choose well.

7 Steps to a Prosperity Consciousness

How can we attract the abundance that so many are seeking? To be abundantly supplied for all that we need means we can enjoy loving relationships, a beautiful home, travel, and whatever supports the attainment of our purpose or life's work. The process we use to access this Universal or Divine Energy is by understanding how it works and what we need to do to open ourselves to this creative and nurturing power. This can be called having a prosperity consciousness.

A prosperity consciousness means that you not only believe but know with certainty, there is an unlimited supply of love, happiness, intelligence, and prosperity available to everyone, but it is us as the individual who must ask for and receive this abundance. The source of this abundance is Devine and we also know that whatever we have or will have must come from this Absolute, Complete, All-powerful, All-knowing, source of intelligence.

Because we are part of the Universe, we are already drawing whatever we need from this Divine Intelligence, but can learn to consciously direct the flow of this power through our lives, as we choose. A person who possesses a prosperity consciousness knows, beyond a shadow of a doubt that there is: an abundance of love, happiness, ideas, money, time, energy, wisdom, and opportunities flowing through their mind and heart from this One Source. They think: "I will always prosper and have the money I need." "I will achieve my goals." 'Whatever I need is coming to me now." "I am drawing intelligence, ideas, and solutions from Infinite Mind, which is flowing through my individual mind."

The person with a prosperity consciousness is a positive thinker, never defeated mentally, and persists until he or she obtains the goal. If limitation or lack appears, a person with a prosperity consciousness does not accept the appearance as the absolute truth, but sees it as a temporary situation, which will change as he or she changes their thoughts, words and actions. They know that where there is a will, there is definitely a way.

7 Steps to Building your Prosperity Consciousness

1. Build a support system for yourself including: taking classes on spirituality, prosperity, and the principles of successful living. Read books, have empowering friendships, and listen to CD's on spirituality, success, and prosperity. Train yourself to think and speak positive words and maintain a positive, prosperous, and enthusiastic attitude. Use the principles of repetition and affirmation to re-program your subconscious mind.

2. Tune into your inner voice. Some people pray, others meditate; others still enjoy walks in nature. Whatever works for you, use it to quieten your mind and ask for guidance.

3. Give up anger, resentment, or envy for others, as these stop the flow of divine energy. Making others wrong and you right, criticizing others as well as yourself, and lamenting your mistakes or losses, all stop the flow.

4. Associate with high-minded, generous, & spiritually-conscious people. Avoid or limit your contact with those who sap your metal or spiritual energy. Avoid watching or reading negative news.

5. Think and behave as the person you desire to become. Have good posture, a happy face, dress smartly, be clean, and look prosperous and attractive at all times. Act as if and you are.

6. Set goals that will help you achieve your purpose and mission. Find out what others, who have achieved what you want to achieve, did to get where they are. Model their system. Give up procrastination & do it now.

7. Collect as many friends and allies as you can and help them, as they will also help you. Build your network of trusted, skilled, and cooperative members. Your 'Mastermind' alliance will encourage and provide ideas to everyone in the group.

Success leaves clues. By observing and modelling the actions and thinking of those to which we aspire we will surely follow in their footsteps.

The Power of Attention – Focusing the Consciousness

In his book, Raja Yoga, Yogi Ramacharaka (William Walker Atkinson) says about the power of attention:

“The word Attention is derived from two Latin words “ad tendere,” meaning “to stretch toward,” which is really what attention is. The “I” wills that the mind be focused on some particular object or thing, and the mind obeys and “stretches toward” that object or thing, focusing its entire energy upon it, observing every detail, dissecting, analyzing, consciously and sub-consciously, drawing to itself every possible bit of information regarding it, both from within and from without. We cannot lay too much stress upon the acquirement of this great faculty, or rather, the development of it, for it is necessary for the intelligent study of Raja Yoga.”

“Attention has been defined as a focusing of consciousness, or, if one prefers the form of expression, as “detention in consciousness.”

“In the first case, we may liken it to the action of the sun-glass through which the sun’s rays are concentrated upon an object, the result being that the heat is gathered together at a small given point, the intensity of the same being raised many degrees until the heat is sufficient to burn a piece of wood, or evaporate water. If the rays were not focused, the same rays and heat would have been scattered over a large surface, and the effect and power lessened.”

“And so it is with the mind. If it is allowed to scatter itself over the entire field of a subject, it will exert but little power and the results will be weak. But if it is passed through the sun-glass of attention, and focused first over one part, and then over another, and so on, the matter may be mastered in detail, and a result accomplished that will seem little less than marvelous to those who do not know the secret.”

“The Attention does not readily fasten itself to uninteresting objects, and, unless interest can be created, it requires a considerable degree of Voluntary Attention in order that the mind may be fastened upon such an object. And, more than this, even if the ordinary attention is attracted it will soon waver, unless there is some interesting change in the aspect of the object, that will give the attention a fresh hold of interest, or unless some new quality, characteristic or property manifests itself in the object. “

“This fact occurs because the mind mechanism has not been trained to bear prolonged Voluntary Attention, and, in fact, the physical brain is not accustomed to the task, although it may be so trained by patient practice.”

Excerpted from Raja Yoga by Yogi Ramacharaka (William Walker Atkinson).

The power of attention can be developed by practicing concentration exercises. You can find a complete chapter on the power of concentration, together with exercises and instructions in the book Visualize and Achieve and in the book Peace of Mind in Daily life.
