Abundance for September and Positive Affirmations Day by Day

I try to be understanding when people interpret the word "abundance" to mean "money" or "prosperity." This is not to say there is anything wrong with money or prosperity. I personally like and experience both. My point is only that the words are not synonymous.

I know folks who have lots of money, yet live in poverty consciousness. I know folks who have no challenge meeting their financial commitments, yet feel sadly lacking in confidence or friends or competence. I know folks who have very little in material possessions, yet their hearts are filled will love and joy. I am convinced that when you discern the energy of abundance as different from money and each of these different from prosperity, you free yourself to experience all three more fully.

You can use anything to experience abundance: dead leaves in the forest, the ocean, food, mountains, paper, trust, money, confidence, skills, anything! Abundance is about unlimited consciousness, not finite things. The consciousness of abundance creates those things.

During the month of September, DailyAffirm explores the theme of Abundance with five different types of affirmations and practice exercises. A new message is posted each day. The essence of the DailyAffirm Process is to proceed through the month with a series of different types of concepts, affirmations, and exercises to explore the theme. In order to fully embrace abundance, it is helpful to acknowledge that the lack or opposite of abundance also exists. The key is to differentiate and choose.

Here are the types of affirmations, with brief description of each, and examples of exercises to practice the ideas.

Releasing/Cleansing Affirmations for September (September 1-7). The purpose of Releasing and/or Cleansing Affirmations is to let go of unwanted and unneeded stuff. This week, these affirmations support you in clearing away non-abundance and releasing resistance and contradictions to abundance.

Identify something that you believe you lack or have "not enough." Before you decide on the obvious, explore aspects of the physical (including money, health, possessions), the emotional (including feelings and relationships), the mental (including knowledge and skills), and the spiritual (including connection with your higher consciousness and awareness of global or universal issues). With this idea (or several ideas) in your mind, energize this week's affirmations to release lack

Receiving/Accepting Affirmations for September (September 8-14). The purpose of Receiving and/or Accepting Affirmations is to open to allow something to be or to become. Open to receive and accept abundance into your life.

Cultural conditioning tends to negate the truth that giving and receiving are the same. Religious dogma asserts that "it is better to give than to receive," which, of course, says that giving and receiving are not the same, and, further, that one is better than the other. When you touch deeply into the energy of giving and receiving, you can more easily recognize that they are the same. Keep in mind, a recognition that "we are all one" helps to understand the depth of the truth that giving and receiving are the same.

Being/Intending Affirmations for September (September 15-21). The purpose of Being and/or Intending Affirmations is to ground your purpose, especially your higher purpose. To be and to intend are different, yet interrelated. Abundance opens you to more abundance.

Return to the situation that you identified in the first week of these affirmations. If you have not already done so, identify an intention for yourself related to that situation. Your intention can be as simple as, "To experience abundance." Be certain that your statement of intention is something that you can remember so that you can say or think it as you find yourself in the dynamics of the situation. Go as deep as possible into the meaning of abundance in your life, with special emphasis on the exploration of this specific situation.

Acting/Claiming Affirmations for September (September 22-28). The purpose of Acting and/or Claiming Affirmations is to bring something into manifestation or to direct the energy of your intention to a desired manifestation. Allow all your actions to be associated with abundance. Then, move through the week energized by prosperous and fulfilling thoughts.

Return again to the situation that you identified in the first week of these affirmations. Consider the most satisfying action you can take with respect to that situation. Experiment (perhaps only in your mind's eye) with at least twelve different actions. Even if you find it impractical or impossible to physically act out all twelve scenarios, you will have expanded your repertoire. Knowing you have choices can assist you in staying in the energy of abundance. Choose to act with abundance.

Integrating/Embodying Affirmations for September (September 29-31). The purpose of Integrating and/or Embodying Affirmations is to allow the energy and meaning of the affirmations to merge with your consciousness. It is important to understand that it is a continuous process to allow abundance to integrate into various aspects of your life. Do it, and then do it again and again and again.

Use your breath to integrate: Breathe in the energy of abundance; breathe out the energy of abundance.

Consider how and where you can find abundance in your life, right now.

Abundance and Prosperity - Forming Positive Beliefs to Attract Abundance and Prosperity

Beliefs play a great role in attracting abundance and prosperity into your life. If you want to have an abundant and prosperous life, you must first learn how to form and acquire positive beliefs. Since your beliefs define what your life is and what your life will be, you can start by believing that you have the capability to manifest your desires at will and that you are already living and enjoying the life of your dreams.

Now some may find it hard to do this or where to start. Let me share with you a few things that can help you get started.

1. Visualize the Reality You Want to Live In

Do you want a life wherein money is not a problem? Or do you want to build your own family with a loving and supporting spouse beside you? Whatever it is that you wanted, you can achieve with the power of visualization.

This is not your normal visualization wherein you just try to imagine things. What makes this kind of visualization work is how you actually visualize yourself living your dreams. For example, if you want a car, visualize yourself in the driver's seat driving your dream car down the highway.

The kind of visualization that you need to do is that of 'having' instead of 'wanting' something. If you are in the 'having' mode, you'll attract whatever it is that you want at the right place and at the right time.

2. Upgrade Your Visualization

If you are going to visualize, visualize something that gets your juices flowing. Make sure that you believe 100 percent that whatever it is you are visualizing, you can have it. Don't go for something that you think and feel will just make you frustrated.

Start with things that are a bit better than what you have right now, and as you see them manifest into your reality one by one, your belief starts to grow and you can then visualize and attract bigger things.

3. Get Rid of Limiting Beliefs

Self-doubt and limiting beliefs are like poison. They slowly kill your ability to manifest your desires. You have to get rid of them as soon as they come up. If your visualization of your desire does not make you feel good, it is a signal that somewhere in your mind there is doubt that you will ever have it.

For example, you are trying to visualize your dream house but you think that you cannot have enough money to get it. What is wrong here is that you believe you can only have that house when you have money. Open your window for greater possibilities. The universe works in mysterious ways and sometimes, our desires are presented to us in a way that we would have never expected them to be.

Your pull towards abundance and prosperity is defined by your beliefs - so form your beliefs the right way, the positive way.

Attracting Abundance With Coaching and Positive Psychology

Increasingly, there's a whole range of interesting scientific studies in the area of positive psychology showing how and why coaching works. How does excellent coaching produce such profound and sustainable results? In my life and executive coaching practice, I find that using practical approaches from positive psychology works wonders.

Particularly with the current economic climate, but always really, it's so important to create a positive mental and emotional framework in order to attract and sustain abundance in your life and work. Let's look at some ways in which we can do this.

* Attracting Abundance: Focusing On What We Want To Attract.

We tend naturally to focus on the negative, still retaining a pre-civilisation fear of predators waiting to pounce on us, fearing financial loss and pain. However, by focusing on the positive, paying attention to what makes us happy and doing more of it, clinical studies show increased well-being and decreased depression as well as significantly improved performance for both individuals and teams. So why not focus on all the abundance already in your life, all the elements you're grateful for, and clearly visualise the abundance you want to create on all levels? A case in point...one exercise I always ask my clients to do is to reflect, at the end of every day, on 3 things you enjoyed that day that you're grateful for. I always knew it worked and helped clients appreciate the joy in their lives. But I didn't know why. One study focused on just this practice, and shows that after 6 months of doing this daily, people are about 60% happier! The 10 Daily Delicious Habits exercise I ask my clients to follow also fits in this category.

*Focusing On Strengths.

Again, this is a practice I invite my clients to follow. Identifying your strengths, assessing them, and consciously drawing on them to meet challenges and create abundance and prosperity can be a break-through strategy. For example, is one of your strengths creativity or another connecting with people? How can you fully take advantage of these strengths to make your visions and ideals come to life?

*Draw On Positive Emotion

Positive emotion is a resource to consciously draw on to increase your success, rather than just a feeling. Cultivate and develop and enhance your positive feelings, and each time you catch yourself thinking or feeling something which saddens you, consciously replace this with a reframing or happy thought or feeling.

*Build Hope And Optimum Performance

Hope helps us cope with adversity, and access optimal performance and motivation. What can you do to increase your hopefulness and positive expectation? The clearer you can be about what you're trying to achieve personally or professionally, the more deliberate and effective you can be in enhancing your positive thinking framework. Ask yourself where and how you've succeeded in the past to achieve elements of your plan? Where have you excelled before and what strengths and resources do you have to create abundance and prosperity in your life, abundance that goes much deeper than prosperity alone, abundance that makes your life generally a fulfilling and joyful experience.

Positive Thinking Quotes

Positive thinking quotes are ideal sources for inspiration and courage in your personal life. When you read them, you not only feed your mind with positive energy, but you also grab nuggets of wisdom from the greatest men and women who ever lived. For almost any situation, you'll find that there is always an appropriate saying, adage or quotation for your benefit. When you collect positive thinking quotes, it's like building your own personal library of motivating thoughts. You may not be able to read and digest all the quotes in one sitting, but you can always refer to them when you're feeling down and needing an emotional boost.

Collecting positive thinking quotes takes some focus and mental alertness at first. But when you are truly in search of positive ideas, you will discover that the world we live in is full of encouraging thoughts. Therefore, you must always be aware of the world around you. Make an effort to take mental note of positive sayings you hear in your daily life. If possible, write down motivational quotes when you hear them being spoken by someone, or when you see them in print. This kind of mental alertness and openness to positive ideas will train your senses to filter negative thoughts. It will allow you to erase feelings of low self esteem and replace your mindset with a positive outlook.

A relatively easier way to gain access to positive thinking quotes is to get yourself a good quotation reference book. These types of books are available in almost every major bookstore, and contain compilations of popular, proven and time tested sayings. A lot of these books have the quotations arranged systematically in various categories such as theme and author name. Thus, using a quotation reference book allows you to easily find the perfect quote that fits your unique situation. It's also a good way to add spice to your communication skills. For example, if you're aspiring to become an effective public speaker, you can use positive quotes to inspire your audience and finish your speeches on a high note.

When reading positive thinking quotes, don't just skim through them and finish them in a hurry. The power of positive quotes is not in the words used, but in how you comprehend those words and assimilate them into your subconscious. Your mind will benefit more if you take time to internalize positive ideas. If possible, learn and discover the background story behind every quotation. This will add more meaning to the nuggets of motivation you are reading. For example, a lot of people are familiar with the saying, "I can't accept failure without trying". But if you're aware that the person who originally said those words is Michael Jordan, and you're fully aware of the challenges and circumstances that he faced in his career, the quotation would have a deeper meaning to you. That's why it's important to read quotes and sayings intently, in between the lines.

Acquiring and sustaining a positive mindset is a lifelong task that requires focus and persistence, but it will reward you with happiness, peace of mind, and the fulfillment of your goals in life. If you make it a habit to extract juices of positive ideas around you, your thoughts will constantly improve for the better. Make a consistent effort to eliminate negativity from your thoughts. Change your mindset: because by doing so, you also change your destiny.

Creating an Instant Positive Impact on Your Attitude

There are different ways to make an instant positive impact on your personal attitude when negative thinking starts to evade your mind. It mostly depends on the individual and his preferences, but some of the methods can be really useful.

Success and achievements are closely related with our attitude. Positive attitude brings positive results. Negative attitude brings... guess what?! I can hardly imagine any success or accomplished goal without having a positive mental attitude. Some authors (e.g. Brian Tracy) designate this as the law of correspondence. The law says that results mostly correspond to the mental attitude of the individual. In other words, our outer world (consequences) is perfectly corresponding to our inner world (causes). Therefore, positive thinking should bring positive results, and negative thinking should create negative ones. If aiming to achieve something in our lives, then we certainly need to cherish positive attitude most of the time.

How do we achieve this quickly and efficiently? There is no universal magic formula. I can only suggest a practice that helped me attain it. In my life, I have become aware that remembering short but positive, encouraging and mind provoking quotes and sayings can make quick and instant positive impact on my attitude. All I do is willfully replace negative thoughts that start to creep in with remembered positive and inspiring quotes from other people. This has a profound impact on my feelings and behavior.

It does require mental strength though and a bit of discipline, as negative thoughts are usually prompt and can quickly take over your thinking and feelings. When this occurs, you need to willfully put some mental effort and try and recall a positive quote you have remembered. When recalled, quote needs to be repeated and internalized by reflecting upon it for few moments. In such way, positive thoughts will start dominating your thinking and will fully replace negative thinking. You will feel good and energized again, ready to move forward.

Allow me to offer an example of this by using one of my favorite action quotes. Whenever I am in a situation I need to make a quick and important decision, and then fear and uncertainty begin to evade my mind, I deliberately start to remember and repeat the following line by Dale Carnegie:

"The person who gets the farthest is generally the one who is willing to do and dare. The sure-thing boat never gets far from shore."

Suddenly I become convinced that I ought to be courageous and act accordingly if goal is to be achieved. Fear, doubt and uncertainty will never get me anywhere. This encouraging thinking pattern usually replaces all of the negative concerns. I am then prepare to act.

This principle can be applied to any area of life. Just find and remember the quote that will mirror the attitude you want to have when specific situation arise. You will then be equipped to impact your thoughts and direct your course of action in a positive way. Hence, you can regard quotes and sayings as your assistants.

If you are feeling creative it also adds extra spark to your affirmations and quotes by saying them with your favorite uplifting piece of music playing in the background.

Why Positive Affirmations and Quotes Can Have a Negative Effect

So this may come as a shock to you but sometimes even the most practised positive thinkers can be living a negative life... Why? Could this be you? You feel you are thinking all the right thoughts, using positive quotes ad affirmations but life just isn't where you really want it to be right now ~ Read on ~ This will really help you...

I am a big believer in positive quotes and affirmations. I have journals filled with them, I even have recorded affirmations which I listen to on a daily basis. When I read or listen to my positive affirmations I feel great as I know I am in the process of attracting all these wonderful things and positive situations into my life, it feels so good.... Whoo hoo!

Now, notice one significant thing I said in my last statement ~ I am in the process of attracting....

The Process ~ The act of proceeding; continued forward movement; procedure; progress; advance.

To be in the process, you know that its on its way, you are working towards it, you are in the process of attracting your ideal life situation.

Thinking this way instantly shifts your thoughts onto the positive train of thought, you see the positive things you want to attract coming into your life when you think about being in the process.

If you understand this you will be free of any negative mind chatter which may be occurring for you at the moment when you read or listen to your positive affirmations and quotes. For example "I am wealthy" when you say this without having wealth your mind says "No you are not!" ~ This is where you may have been counteracting your positive affirmations and quotes with a negative thought.

Change it! "I am in the process of attracting my ideal financial situation" ~ Do you see what happens here? You instantly think of your ideal financial situation rather than telling yourself you haven't got or cant have something.

Do you see the shift here?

Use this method with all your positive affirmations and quotes and just watch the magic happen! Trust me this works a treat!

Thanks for reading, wishing you a wonderful day ~ if you enjoyed this article spread the word ~ Karma ♥

What Are The 10 Rules Of The Power Of Positive Thinking?

The power of positive thinking and the top ten rules in getting it is one of the hottest topic today.

This is because people are realizing that positive thinking and a positive attitude does affect life significantly. Have you heard of "The Secret" movie? It's rapidly making it's way around the world.

Whether you see a glass as half-empty or half-full can affect the way you treat yourself. We are in control of our lives and our destiny.

An idle brain, is a devils' workshop they say. This is not a positive quote. However, using this ideology in mind, we ventured to write on positive thinking, so that something productive would be achieved of our minds.

Here are the top 10 Rules to Get the Power of Positive Thinking

1) Believe - You need to believe. You can not pretend to be a positive thinker. In positive thinking, you can not fake it because there is no one to pretend to. If somebody merely believes that you are a positive thinker, how can that benefit you? The most important of the ten rules of the power of positive thinking is that you yourself should believe it.

2) Be objective - This is very important in the ten rules for the power of positive thinking. Many people tend to see their lives for their failures and thus, they lose all hope of ever attaining in their goal. Some other people, filled with false pride, tend to magnify their success and they make all the wrong decisions.

3) Surround yourself with people who have a positive attitude - When you are engaged in an internal battle between your negative and positive self, you will need all the help you can get. Do not surround yourself with negative people who will just drag your positive attitude to the floor with their negativity.

4) Be healthy - All of the positive thinking in the world will not help you if you are six feet under, can it? You have to keep your body healthy in order to fuel your positive thinking. One step to achieving the power of positive thinking is looking after your body.

5) Switch negativity around - Remove all negative thoughts by repelling it outright when something negative enters your personality. Channel that energy into positive thoughts. Positive quotes and positive affirmations will help to keep negativity away.

6) Be patient - Positive thinking is not immediate. You need to reprogram yourself in order to get remove any negative attitude you possess.

7) Remember that other people can sense your negativity - Before you do anything, be sure to have the right attitude. One reason why people fail is because others can sense their negative attitude and want no part of it. Positive thoughts, positive thinking, and positive affirmation create a positive attitude

8) Be positive - Always look for something positive in everything new. When you encounter something unfamiliar, do not be afraid. Take a hard look at it and see it for the positive effects it brings, this will make your life easier.

9) Pace yourself - You need to pace yourself in order to prevent yourself from collapsing. Take life one day at a time. Remember that you can not hurry into being positive. Be patient and you will achieve a positive attitude.

10) Apply the change - The main characteristic of these ten rules of the power of positive thinking is the fact that they only bring you to the door. You have to open it yourself. Many individuals do not realize this, but we need these rules in order to appreciate life more. Some people think rules limit our achievements, but this is untrue. Without any rules, we would have been extinct centuries ago. Rules remove the chaos that is called life and impose sanity into it.

Rules are what we use to help us understand the true meaning of life. Sometimes, we look for rules in order to help us attain our goals. People make rules in order to help themselves achieve their goals in a manner that they can understand. Rules are also used to help us understand life. People give out rules in order to help others get what they want. We are able to keep every discovery made because of rules.

It seems that people, when looking for rules, like to stick to ten, which is a nice, round number. It comes as no surprise that individuals look for 10 rules for the power of positive thinking.

Positive Attitude Quotes - With Meanings

We go through life every day with our attitudes out in front of us, acting like a security guard. When we approach an obstacle, it hits our attitude first. How our attitude deals with the obstacle will determine the outcome we will get.

By having a positive attitude, the outcomes are more likely to be in YOUR favour. So why not adopt a positive attitude all the time? It doesn't cost you anything yet the rewards can be potentially life-changing.

Having a positive attitude is not just a fad or 'something that you should have.' It's a permanent state of mind, where every problem is an opportunity in disguise and the word can't doesn't exist. Let's look at some great positive attitude quotes and what they mean:

"The name we give to something shapes our attitude toward it." This quote by Katherine Paterson is saying that whatever life throws at you, only YOU will decide whether it's going to be good or bad for you. For example, if you get splashed by a bus whilst you're walking to work, you can either curse the bus and its driver, or be happy that it was just an accident and that everyone else on the bus was just trying to get to work too!

"Every wall is a door." Ralph Waldo Emerson is telling us to look at every obstacle as an opportunity rather than an immovable problem which causes us to just give up and admit defeat. Nothing is impossible if you put your mind to it. There was a time when people laughed at the idea of stepping foot on the moon - it happened. Now people are even paying deposits to become space tourists...

"Believe you can and you're half way there." Roosevelt's powerful words tell us that if we think we can do it, we're well on the way TO doing it. Nothing is as damaging to success as a negative attitude towards any endeavour. Winners never quit. No matter how big the mountain, believe you can climb it.

"It's not whether you get knocked down; it's whether you get back up." A great quote by Vince Lombardi. In life there will be times when things don't go to plan. No one gets things right 100% of the time. The important thing is whether we choose to stay down or get up and try again when things go wrong. If we get up and try again a different way, we may just succeed. But if we stay down and give up, we're guaranteed to lose. If at first you don't succeed...

"If you think you can, or you think you can't, you're probably right." It's a good job Henry Ford came up with this gem, otherwise we might not have had motor vehicles, and that's a little hard to imagine! If you tackle a problem with the attitude that you can do it - you probably will. If you take the stance that you can't - you'll convince yourself that it's impossible. Either way YOU are making the choice.

Having a positive attitude will give you a major advantage over those who don't have one. This is true in any given situation in life. It will give you the power to achieve things you didn't think were possible. We all have great potential within us however we just don't realize it. Every single one of us is capable of so much more than we think we're capable of. We just need to put our minds to it and TAKE ACTION.

"Oh no," you're thinking, "not another article about positive thinking - about why I should pretend everything is great when it really isn't!" Ah, well if you're thinking those thoughts then maybe you're already displaying negative thinking habits, eh! And that really isn't good for you, you know.

Okay, I'm only joking, and I am actually completely with you on how positive thinking - or the benefits of a positive mental attitude - are being 'sold' these days by all the self-help gurus and wannabee gurus. The fact is, sometimes life is hard, and sometimes you just don't want to smile and be cheerful - sometimes you do want to pack it all in, and become a Buddhist monk recluse!

(Or is that just me?)

In short, sometimes you don't feel like having a positive attitude.

And that's fine, it really is. Just accept that today, or this exact moment in time, you're not feeling too great. That's it - just accept it. Because - and I do have to be just a little bit upbeat here - you and I both know that your mood *is* going to change, *is* going to get better. Sooner or later.

Yes, things change - things do get better.

Okay sometimes it takes a lot of hard 'personal work' to see things differently, or to see things in a way that's more helpful to you. And sometimes your mood just changes, improves. Just like that.

So the thing for me about positive thinking is that it simply represents a better way of looking at your life - a more helpful way.

After all, "I can't do this" or "I'll never succeed" or "No-one's going to want to love me as I am" - none of these thoughts, however 'true', are going to make you feel good about yourself.

(And you and I both know that if a so-called best-friend kept whispering such 'upbeat' stuff in your ears all the time then they really wouldn't stay your best friend for long!)

So, to me, positive thinking is about accepting how you're feeling - good or bad - AND it's about realising that things change. Always things change. It's also understanding that thinking thoughts that feel good - well... they feel good. And nobody chooses to feel bad... Do they? Which perhaps gets us to the nub of the problem when it comes to positive thinking...

There are those that believe we can choose our thoughts - choose to think thoughts that feel good - and there are those who do not. Thankfully - and even though I sometimes feel down about myself, and the 'struggle' that is my life - I am a firm believer in the power to choose at least the nature of our thoughts.

So let me end my thoughts on positive thinking with some positive attitude quotes. And let's just imagine, if only for a few minutes, the power that these words can have on us...

"Once you replace negative thoughts with positive ones, you'll start having positive results."

-- Willie Nelson

"Fear less, hope more; Eat less, chew more; Whine less, breathe more; Talk less, say more; Love more, and all good things will be yours"

-- Swedish Proverb

Reinforce Positive Behavior

Have you heard the story about the tree falling in the forest? It goes something like this: If a tree falls in the forest, and nobody is around to hear it, did it make a sound? When I sold the business that had been my life and livelihood for many years I wondered how my associates would react. Would they really care? Did they like working for me? Would I ever know?

I got my answer in a way that touched me beyond word. (Some even remembered my birthday!)

"Thank you for the opportunity and the freedom to do things my way here."

"It would be a pleasure to work for you again."

"Happy birthday! I wish you well, and the best."

"I appreciate your enthusiasm and time that you have invested with me. I always could tell how much you enjoyed working with me and the staff here."

"You don't know how much you inspired me and you made me feel how a good employee should feel. You always said positive things to me when you came up here, and that said a lot about the company,"

The last quote was my favorite. It was from a customer service associate - someone who wasn't making a big salary. She simply liked her job, the company, and wanted to feel part of a team. Part of "Hitting the Grand Slam" and putting a thrill into customer service is stepping I paying attention to your associates. Everybody knows this, though, right?

We've all heard the slogan: happy employees equal happy customers; however, something this simple is rarely easy to do. It all boils down to Listening, Loving and Learning. Here are some easy tips.

oDon't ignore the help. The quote above wishing me a happy birthday was from a cashier. She took the time, from her personal email to wish me a happy birthday after I had sold the company. Why? Because every time I went to that store, I stopped by to speak with her. I tried to make her feel like the most important person in the world to me at that moment.

oAddress people by using their NAMES! Seems simple, but it's not easy to remember every name. My company had 200 associates, not exactly General Motors, but enough names to cause confusion. I didn't know everybody's name, but I sure tried my hardest. I always remembered what Dale Carnegie said in his famous book,"How to Win Friends and Influence People." He said, "There is no sweeter sound in the English language, than the sound of one's own name."

oFind something positive to say about every person as often as possible. I had an associate who always went out of her way to please our customers. I recognized this, and its wonderful effects, and pointed this out by complimenting her many times. She was inspired (see if you can pick out her quote) and continued this positive behavior.

Reinforcing positive behavior is one way to say, "Keep up the good work!"

Attracting Abundance - Tap Into the Invisible Current of Positive Energy

Many people who try attracting more abundance have a perception that abundance is something they need to "pursue" or "obtain" in order to have more of it. While this may appear true on a physical level, the energetic process is much simpler.

I like to think of abundance as an invisible "current" of energy flowing around me and through me. Any time I need money, I can simply tune into the essence of this current, and it's not long before some actual, physical money will show up in my life. And it often comes from a source I was not expecting.

If you haven't worked with techniques for attracting abundance before, this process may sound too good to be true. Can you really just "tune into" the essence of abundance and allow more money into your life? Absolutely! However, it does take a bit of practice and patience. Once you learn how to do it and get used to doing it frequently, it works much better and takes little time and effort.

Below is a simple exercise that I use to tune into the essence of abundance. Try performing it once daily, or more often if possible, and it won't be long before you notice some positive shifting taking place in your financial situation:

1) Relax

The first part of the exercise is to get as relaxed and calm as you can. Breathe deeply and slowly, relax all your muscles and allow your body to go limp. (You can do this exercise while lying or sitting, whichever is more comfortable.)

2) See the current of abundance

Once you feel relaxed, close your eyes and imagine that you can see this current of abundance flowing all around you and through you. You can see it as a stream of sparkling green light (or gold, or white, any color will work); or see it as liquid, like a stream of water.

3) Feel the abundance

As you look at this stream of abundance, imagine that you can feel it too. What does abundance feel like? Ease, flow, joy, peacefulness, warmth, coolness - any feeling you attach to it is fine as long as it's positive. Concentrate on this flow of abundance and allow its positive feel to seep into you.

4) Abundance and money

As you stay tuned into the flow of abundance, begin to see paper money flowing along in this stream. You can imagine them as one-dollar bills, twenty-dollar bills, one-hundred-dollar bills, or even larger if you want. See dozens of these bills filling the stream of energy around and within you. Imagine yourself reaching out and plucking a few of these bills out of the stream and holding them in your hands.

5) Internalize the money

As you imagine holding these bills, FEEL as if you have actually received the sum of money in real life. How does it feel to actually have a couple thousand dollars (or however much you are visualizing) in your possession? Allow yourself to feel as if you truly have received the money, and let your heart lift in gratitude and joy for your increased abundance!

Stay with these pleasant feelings for as long as you want, and then continue on with your day.

After you do the exercise, a few different things may happen. You may receive money from unexpected sources, or even money you were expecting might show up sooner than you thought it would. Or you may suddenly get an idea about something you can do to allow more money to come to you, like an action that will boost your business income, or you may get a feeling that you should skim through the Help Wanted ads, and you may see a higher paying job listed that would be perfect for you. Sometimes these things won't happen immediately, but rather a few days later.

However it happens, simply do your best to stay detached and optimistic that good things are on the way. If you feel a hunch to do something specific, go with it and see what happens. The more you can perform this exercise, the sooner you should start seeing steady progress in attracting abundance.

Top 5 Tips For Using Positive Affirmations

I am a strong believer that positive affirmations can help you achieve success in all you do. However, positive affirmations have to be used properly for optimum results. Take a look at the top tips below for using positive affirmations.

Top 5 tips for using positive affirmations

1) Use affirmations in the present tense. Affirmations are most effective when used in the present tense. It projects an ideal state of being, something we are working on for the future but 'feeling' in the present. By affirming that ideal state or goal in the present tense, we are opening up ourselves to receive it.

2) Use them with visualization. When you say your affirmations, visualize the positive outcome as well. Repeat this process until you can feel yourself achieving the goal you affirm. If your affirmation is "I have more than enough money for everything I want", Visualize yourself in possession of that which you want and feel the joy that comes with it.

3) Affirmations must be specific. State your goal, positive outcome or whatever you affirm in specific terms. For example, "I am a successful sales executive making $75,000 per year". Once you focus on this specific income, you have set your intention, have something to work towards and thus increase your chances of reaching or surpassing that income level.

4) Repeat them several times throughout the day. Incorporate your affirmations in your daily thoughts by repeating them several times and you will increase your vibration to your goals. Thereby increasing your chances of achieving them. This keeps your goals top of mind and helps to maintain your focus on your goals.

5) Write them down. Record your affirmations in a daily journal. Write your affirmations on index cards that you carry with you each day and look at periodically throughout the day. You can also write your affirmations on post-it notes and stick it on places where you can see it often, like a mirror or on your computer monitor.

Go ahead and use these positive affirmation tips and watch your life transform. You will attract more positive outcomes, achieve you goals and live the life of your dreams.

7 Tips to Make Positive Thinking Work For You

According to the Mayo Clinic, researchers continue to explore the benefits of positive thinking. Some of these benefits are reputed to be: Lower stress levels, increased life span, greater resistance to the common cold, better coping skills during hardships and better physical and psychological well-being.

So here are 7 tips to use positive thinking to incorporate positive thinking in your life today!

1) Use Affirmations

Affirmations are positive declarations we make that are in the present tense and in the affirmative. For instance, "I am so happy and grateful now that I have total financial freedom" as opposed to "This year I am going to get out of debt". See the difference? Affirmations are powerful because they trick the mind into believing that you have already achieved the goal and that you are very capable of achieving your goal. When repeated, according to the law of attraction, you subconsciously create the circumstances to help you achieve your goal. You will then attract people and opportunities that can help you get from where you are to where you truly believe you can be.

2) Develop an attitude of gratitude

In every situation, there is always something to be thankful for. By appreciating the good you have in your life now, you open up yourself to even greater gifts to come. Dating back to several years ago, Oprah suggested that we keep a gratitude journal by recording at least 3 things you are grateful for every night. Today, we hear the same principle in movies like 'The Secret' as well as in books and articles on the subject. Recording the things you are grateful for each night forces you to look for the good in situations during the day. This opens your eyes to realize that your life may be full of too many blessings to count.

3) Set your intention to think positive

Each morning, as you wake up, set your intention to have a positive day no matter what. Set your intention to keep your words, thoughts and deeds positive. One of my favorite ways to answer the question 'How are you?' is "Great!" This helps to demonstrate my positive attitude, which is contagious and for the most part, cultivate positive outcomes with the people I come in contact with. So trips to the bank, post office or just interactions with colleagues go smoother.

4) Pay attention to your thoughts

If you tend to see the glass half empty, you may be a pessimist or habitual negative thinker. In order to cultivate an attitude of positive thinking all the time, pay attention to your thoughts. When a negative thought enters your mind, replace it with a positive one right away. Imagine that it is a weed in the rich soil of your mind that must be removed immediately. This will take practice but it can be done.

5) Look for the good in every situation, person or circumstance

This can be a fun exercise. It teaches you that no matter what happens, thing could always be worse, so be thankful. A few examples are:

Situation - car problems; Good - at least you have a car

Situation - long work commute; Good - at least you can catch up on your positive reading material on the way (if you use public transportation) or listen to positive CD's in the car

6) Read Positive Material Everyday

Very important! One of my favorite quotes by Zig Ziglar to illustrate this point is, "People often say that motivation doesn't last. Well, neither does bathing - that's why we recommend it daily." Feed your mind folks, just like a car needs fuel to drive. Read motivational articles online, read a daily devotional, read biographies of inspirational people, read self-help books, read positive quotes. The possibilities here are endless.

7) Remember that like attracts like

A quote from "The Secret" says, "If you think in positive terms, you will achieve positive results. If you think in negative terms, you will achieve negative results." The movie based on the Law of Attraction states that like attracts like. So if you practice positive thinking, you will attract positive people, outcomes and results.
