God Wants to Bless Us With Prosperity

We all hope to prosper and succeed in life, and many of us pray that God will lead us on the right path to prosperity and success. It's wonderful to lay our requests at God's feet and ask for His blessings, but we need to understand when we ask for these things that the world's idea of prosperity is different from that of the Lord. Prosperity is much more than just the trappings of material success, and God grants us His blessings so that we are enriched in ways that are far more important than monetary success.

One definition of the word blessings is "the infusion of something with holiness, divine will or hope." What a wonderful explanation of God's blessings! When we are blessed by God, we are showered with His holiness and divine will and given hope. Being blessed means "to be highly favored by God," and that is what will enable us to prosper in this world.

God blesses us with His kind of prosperity, which is having everything in our lives functioning correctly and in a right manner according to His Word. Prosperity is well-being and growth toward Him. When we have these blessings and prosperity, we are comfortable with what we have and know that we are fortunate to be sheltered by God's love. God isn't magnified when His children are struggling, broken in spirit or disgusted with life. He is glorified by our prosperity and the blessedness of our lives, which are achieved through His Grace.

God wants you to prosper in life and succeed at those things that are most important. When we are blessed by Him, we are empowered to succeed in a right life, loving our neighbors and ourselves. When we live such a life, the bounty we give is returned to us ten-fold by those around us and our Lord.

"And God is able to provide you with every blessing in abundance, so that by always having enough of everything, you may share abundantly." - 2 Corinthians 9:8

Notice that God's Word doesn't say you will have wealth in abundance, or power in abundance - but you will have His blessings so that you always have enough to share with others. This is God's wish for our lives - that we are rich in love, rich in charity and rich in our desire to shower our own blessings on others. In this way, God allows us to prosper and grow.

Are you ready to accept the blessings of God and prosper in right living and loving kindness? If so, simply pray to Him and ask for His blessings and His guidance - He will show you the way to true Prosperity and a Successful Life that will grace you now and in eternity. His greatest blessing is forgiveness of your sins so that you are right with Him and worthy of His favor. And with this forgiveness and His love, how can you not prosper?

"See if I will not open the windows of heaven for you and pour down for you an overflowing of blessings." - Malachi 3:10

God Wants You to Prosper

Most Christians don't have a problem with salvation of the spirit. We recognize that Jesus died for our sins and saved us from eternal, spiritual death. But, this is only one of the curses we were redeemed from. Jesus redeemed us from the three-fold curse of the law. Obviously, the most important part is eternal life through Jesus. But, we were also redeemed from the curses of sickness and poverty.

These two promises seem to be difficult for many of us to grasp. Many Christians tend to think that God chooses on a case-by-case basis whether or not it is His will to heal or to prosper. Hand-in-hand with that is the prevalent belief that if we can only get enough people praying, we can persuade God to change His mind and do what we want. Well, my Bible says that He doesn't change. That there is no turning or shadow, and that Jesus is the same yesterday, today and forever. My Bible also tells me that God sent His word and healed them. Notice, this is past tense. It doesn't say He sent His word TO heal them, or that if we pray long enough and loud enough and get enough people together He may decide to do that. It says He already did. He sent His word. His Word was Jesus, the Word made flesh that dwelt among us.

Our prosperity must be pretty important to God, because it is mentioned numerous times in the Bible. Now, there are conditions that we have to meet. Deuteronomy 5:33 tells us: "Walk in all the way that the LORD your God has commanded you, so that you may live and prosper and prolong your days in the land that you will possess." God expects us to follow His ways. In fact, that is the only way we can truly prosper. If we are not walking in God's path, then we are walking in the path of the devil, and that leads only to destruction. So, it isn't that God punishes us for our lack of obedience; rather, there is a natural consequence to our disobedience. Think of it as a spiritual law, similar to the law of gravity. If you violate that law, you will fall, just as surely as you will fall if you violate spiritual laws.

Chapter 28 of Deuteronomy lists the blessings and the curses. If you haven't really studied this chapter, I recommend you do so. Many times Christians concentrate only on the New Testament, thinking that the Old Testament applies only to the Jews. But, remember, we are told that we are the seed of Abraham; we are his heirs through faith. That means, I am heir to all of the promises of Abraham--and God promised Abraham some very awesome things. Deuteronomy 28:11 says: "The LORD will grant you abundant prosperity-in the fruit of your womb, the young of your livestock and the crops of your ground-in the land he swore to your forefathers to give you." In other words, my avenue of income (livestock and crops) will prosper, and so will my children! Not just prosper, but prosper abundantly.

How do we claim the promises of God? Joshua 1:8 tells us: "Do not let this Book of the Law depart from your mouth; meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do everything written in it. Then you will be prosperous and successful." We are to meditate on God's promises. We are to speak God's promises. Don't speak what you don't want in your life. No matter what circumstances you may find yourself in, say what the Word says about you. Don't let that depart from your mouth.

I wish above all things that you prosper and be in health, even as your soul prospers. Feed yourself on God's Word and promises to you, and you cannot help but prosper!

God Wants You to Prosper

For over 35 years I have taught that Christians should be prosperous, yes, God wants us to prosper and be in health. I know some groups don't like this message and other groups abuse it. The groups that don't believe it stay in their poverty mindset because they think that is what they are supposed to do. And the groups that abuse it make God sound like an ATM machine. Both of them really bother me!

I don't get mad at the people because I know they being taught these mindsets and think that anything to the contrary goes against God's will. So, I get upset with those in positions of authority who have taught these lies. Yes, I know, I've heard all the "scriptural arguments" on the evils of prosperity and the other side about promises of God being our "Sugar Daddy" and they all make sense when you listen to those pushing their agenda. But when you look at all of the scriptures as a whole the story takes on a different view.

Part of the poverty mindset goes back to a time when the landowners and the Church were together in power and it was convenient for the masses to stay poor and were told to focus on rewards in the here-after. This meant the rich landowners could stay rich and not be bothered. My question has always been if it was so good for the masses why wasn't it good for the leaders to live in poverty and wait for their rewards in heaven as well? But they were too busy enjoying the benefits of wealth and power.

But it does no good to worry about what others are doing so I decided to teach that God has a different plan. God wants you to prosper, that is my message and if people really want to hear that message, they will set aside all their preconceived ideas and ideologies and look at the facts.

It can get sticky at times talking to people who have made up their minds that coins and bills are evil. And of course I am aware of corruption, greed and abuse and how bad it can get. But there is a way to avoid all that and do it the right way.

I've just gotten so sick and tired of good people who love God and want to live wonderful lives being beaten down and defeated because they have the wrong information and the wrong mindset.

If you have these views, make a change today by at least entertaining the possibility that God wants you to prosper and live abundantly. That at least gives us a starting point.
